Worked as Project Director, “Support to Sustainable Management of the Bay of Bengal Large Marine Ecosystem (BOBLME) Project (2008-2013)”- a technical assistant projects of GoB as a part of regional project financed by GEF and implemented by FAO.
Major activities: Managing the activities of BOBLME project in Bangladesh. Act as member secretary of National Task Force, BOBLME, coordinating the activities of National Technical Advisor for BOBLME- Bangladesh and other activities of the project.
Worked as Divisional-in-Charge of Research Division of BFRI HQ (1995-96, 2005 to- 2009)
Major activities: Coordinating & monitoring of on-going research projects of BFRI. Planning, budgeting and evaluation of projects. Also performed international and national communications for research and research related activities.
Worked as Project Director/Principal Investigator/Research Investigator with the project titles:
- Nutrient contents of Indigenous Small Fishes of Bangladesh and their products. BARC Coordinated Research (2009-10)
- Evaluation of nutrient quality and self life of commercial feed ingredients and feeds on aquaculture production in Bangladesh. BFRI Core Research. (2008-10)
Major activities: Determine the nutrient content of SIS of Bangladesh specifically from brackishwater habitats. Determine the quality of feed and performance of feed industries of Bangladesh.
- The potential of C/N-controlled periphyton based technology for freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii farming in Bangladesh under grant from Ministry of Science & Information Technology, GOB. (2008-09)
Major activities: Developing low cost aquaculture technology by combining heterotrophic pond management and periphyton technology through C:N ratio control.
- Improvement of food qualities of traditional fish and fishery products of Bangladesh. BFRI Core Research. (2006-08)
Major activities: Investigation of production, marketing and consumption pattern of traditional fishery products, evaluate nutritional and food qualities of the products. Evaluate value chain and shelf life of the traditional fishery products.
- Improvement of traditional smoked fish products of Bangladesh under grant from Ministry of Science & Information Technology, GOB. (2004-05, 2005-06)
Major activities: Identifying present status of smoked fish/shrimps in the country and improvement needed. Evaluate nutritional value of smoked products.
- Impact of small indigenous fish species (SIS) on livelihood of local fishing community in two Upzillas of Mymensingh under grant from WorldFish Center/USAID (Development of Sustainable Aquaculture Programme). (2003-04)

- Impact of the use of chemicals and feed additives on fish/shrimp flesh in regard to human health under grant from Ministry of Science & Information Technology, GOB. (2002-03)
Major activities: Identifying chemicals and feed additives used in feed industries and in aquaculture practices and trial of these chemicals/feed additives on selected species under laboratory and pond conditions.

- Duckweed Research Project- A technical assistance project implemented by the Ministry of Fisheries & Livestock (GOB) and supported by the Netherlands Govt. (1996-98)
- A detailed study leading to the development of quality fish feeds from indigenous raw materials for culture of various groups of commercially important freshwater fishes of Bangladesh. BARC Funded Project. (1989-92)
- Survey of potential fish feed ingredients of Bangladesh on the basis of their availability and biochemical composition. BARC Funded Project. (1987-89)
Major activities: Identifying potential fish feed ingredients on the basis of their availability, price and biochemical composition. Formulation and preparing a number of fish feeds for fry, fingerlings and food fish using local ingredients and trial of these feeds on selected species under laboratory and pond conditions. Feasibility study of duckweed based aquaculture both in laboratory and field conditions.

Major activities: Conducting and supervising a baseline survey work in the coastal belt of Bangladesh and preparing recommendations.
